I have read the city ordinances relating to building/zoning permit rules and have made certain that my building permit is in agreement to these regulations. I also give permission to the city tax assessor to inspect any and or all buildings.

Building Permit Regulations


Building permits must be obtained for the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration or moving of any building within city limits.

All Building permits must be approved prior to work being done.

A $10.00 fee must be paid to the City Auditor when the building permit application is turned in.

Yard Regulations - Residential District
1. A front yard of not less than twenty (20) feet.
2. A side yard on each side of not less than six (6) feet from the lot line to overhand of building.
3. A rear yard of not less than twenty (20) feet if there is a garage opening to the alley, otherwise a rear yard of ten (10) feet.

All buildings or structures erected, moved, place, reconstructed, extended or elnarges in a block or area where buildings or structures are already located shall be erected or placed so as to conform with the depth of the front yard and be placed in line with the existing buildings.

Regulations Regarding Fences and Walls
No fence, wall, shrub row or similar planting shall be erected, maintained, or planted, nor shall any addition or change thereto be made until plans and specifications, including proposed materials etc. have been approved by the City Council. Fences, walls, shrub rows or similar planting may be put on the property line if a written agreement proving such is obtained from your neighbor, otherwise they are to be placed ten (10) feet from the rear property line and three (3) feet from the side property line.

Regulations regarding Tree Plantings
Trees must be planted ten (10) feet from the front and/or rear property lines and five (5) feet from teh side property lines.
