Dead Colt Creek Dam and Recreational Complex
The Milnor Community enjoys the recreational complex and outdoor activities
located just northwest of our city at Dead Colt Creek. Dead Colt Creek
has so much to offer your recreation lifestyle. Whether it's fishing,
watersports, picnicking, or just beautiful scenery, Dead Colt Creek
has it all. With beautiful trees surrounding a lake big enough for
everyone, your family and friends are sure to have a good time here.
The dam, built in 1984, offers a wide array of sporting activities
on this beautifully well-groomed 113-acre lake. A variety of fish
have been caught from these waters from depths of a few feet up to
50', and include sunfish, crappies, bass, walleye, and perch.
Some of the other activities and facilities available include: Camping,
RV Parking, Picnic Shelters, Bathhouse/Showers, Enclosed Pavilion,
Swimming Beach, 2 Playgrounds, Softball Complex, Boat Ramps, Fishing
Pier, Hiking, Water Skiing.

Dead Colt Creek is just 6 miles North, 8 miles West, 3/4 mile North
and 1/2 mile East of Milnor.
Silver Lake Recreation Area
Silver Lake is well known as a family retreat with facilities for
swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, camping and relaxing. The
park includes a hadicap fishing pier, boat docks on both the north
and south side of the lake, swimming beach, bathhouse, picnic shelter,
BBQ grills, playground, primitive camping, and RV camping with electricity
and dump station available.
The lake covers approximately 100 acres of land and is fed by the
Wild Rice River. Silver Lake has a man-made dam that creates a natural
reservoir for northern pike, crappie, perch, and walleye in depths
up to 14 feet for the enthusiastic fisherman. Directions to Silver
Lake from Milnor - 10 miles west on Highway 13, 13 miles south on
Highway 32, 3 miles east and 1/2 mile south.
