Economic Development

Milnor’s mission for Economic Development is to build a solid foundation for economic growth in our community by working together to help businesses grow and expand, promoting our businesses, encouraging new business ventures, and improving our residents’ quality of life.

Our business district includes businesses that have been a part of the community for over 125 years as well as new and beginning businesses.  In the past couple of years we have had several entrepreneurs remodel their facilities and the elevator expanded their grain storing capacity an additional 2.7 million bushels, added a new grain drying system and a second receiving pit.  First National Bank has remodeled and expanded and Dahlstrom Funeral Home has built a new building.  We have added six new Main Street businesses:  Mrs. Klean Car Wash, Tiny Tykes Daycare, the Front Porch (a unique boutique of reclaimed and custom creations), The Keg (an ice cream and snack business), Crossroads Electric (a heating/air-conditioning and electrical company), and Sakry Plumbing.  We have also welcomed Sheyene Valley Tree Service, Rock, Paper, Scissors, and Stitch-an-Image.  Milnor recently annexed 44 additional acres into our city as an industrial park on the south side of town with approximately 27 acres still available.  Sheyenne Valley Veterinary Services has built their 5,000-square foot facility in this new subdivision and other businesses are inquiring about this newly developed area.
