Freedom Park
Freedom Park, located on Milnor's Main Street, was built by the Satellite Club, a community organization. The park was made possible with contributions from the Milnor Community. Activities at Freedom Park during the summer months include car shows, tractor show, student night and music. Check the Satellite Club Facebook page for activities and events.
In 2006, members of the American Legion and the VFW organized a committee to design and build a veterans monument to honor all the local people who have served their country. In July 2008 during the Milnor's 125th celebration the new monument was dedicated. As part of the new Freedom Park on Main Street, we now have a 8 foot by 20 foot black granite monument with approximately 800 names of former and current service men and women inscribed on it. Freedom Park is a wonderful setting for a beautiful monument which is a lasting tribute to all veterans of this area.
In 2011 the Keg, which is located next to the Freedom Park, was reopened. This community main-stay has a long history of serving ice cream treats in the community. The Satellite Club was instrumental in reopening the Keg and works closely with the manager, giving our youth the opportunity to be employed over the summer months and to bring sweet treats to all.
COMING SOON - A new building is planned to open in the spring of 2025, replacing the original "Keg" and allowing more beverage and food choices.
Come join us for an ice cream treat!
