City & Community Events Held Annually in Milnor
Here are just a few of the things we do to stay busy in Milnor..........
- The Milnor Fire Department and Fire District hosts "Inferno Night" during the winter with games of chance and a wonderful dinner. Tickets for this event go fast, so make sure you get your ticket early!
- Satellite Club, which is a community wide organization open to everyone, sponsors a dinner each year where the Galaxie Award is given to the most outstanding person of the year.
- Satellite Club also host the "Miss Milnor Pageant" in May, to select a young lady to represent our community through out the year and to compete in the Miss Sargent County pagent.
- On Memorial Day our city honors our communities war heros, fallen soliders and countryment. A program, parade and meal is served in remembrance.
- Relay for Life is held each summer in one of the communities in our county. Milnor has hosted this event at the Glenn Dorr Memorial Track to raise money and awareness to fight cancer.
- Each summer the City of Milnor hosts its annual June Fest on the first Saturday in June. The event is a summer community celebration consisting of craft sales, outdoor barbecue, community parade, live music and a street dance that continues on late into the night.
- Our community also supports Milnor Scholarship Association, a nonprofit association that believes in the enrichment of our youth thru learning. This organization holds fundraisers, an annual golf tournament and the Fine Arts and Academic Award Night ice cream social for scholarships. Each year scholarships are awarded and in the past ten years 102 individuals have received scholarships to further their education.
- Each year our community supports the Saddle Up for St. Jude Fundraiser, which is a breakfast, trail ride, supper and auction held to raise funds for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Many individuals from the community take part in this fun day held at a rural location.
- Cowboy-Up Ride Against Cancer is locally held at a rural location with many individuals from the community supporting this event with their time and dollars.
- As our city and county have lost several friends and neighbors to suicide in the last few years, a memorial four-wheeler ride has been held the last two years, and will continue to be an annual event, to raise funds for suicide prevention. These funds will be used at the local level for counseling and education.
- A variety of community activities such as Wednesday Nights at the Park, Crazy Days, Holiday children's festivities, Athletic Banquet, Post Prom, Airport Pancake Breakfasts along with many school related activities all year long.
Please contact the Milnor City office if you have an idea that would make a great "Community Event". We are always looking for ways to bring our citizens together and have fun.
