The City of Milnor is located in southeast North Dakota along North Dakota Highway 13 in a bustling community of agriculture and industry. Our community is very progressive with a variety of businesses, three churches, an activity center, an excellent park and recreational system, golf course, swimming pool, library and school.

Our community enjoys ultra-high speed fiber-optic connections to all our homes and businesses which brings a quality of life that allow us to enjoy the safety, security and slower pace of our rural community without compromising our education or health care needs.

We Offer the Following....

  • Business district with a variety of stores and businesses which include the following types of businesses:  grocery store, grill/restaurant, clinic, bakery, flower shop, boutiques, post office, newspaper, convenience store, gas stations, bank/credit union, vehicle and tire repair, electrical/HVAC, plumbing, car wash, farm equipment, auto body repair, elevator, liquor store, veterinary, kennels, small engine repair, beauty/barber shop, funeral home, tree removal service, along with many smaller businesses that meet a number of needs in the community.
  • K thru 12 Public School system offering a variety of courses and college credit work.  The school also offers a variety of sports including basketball, football, track and volleyball.  Other extracurricular activities offered are Speech, Drama, FBLA, Yearbook, Science Fair, Student Council, and Academic Olympics.
  • Public Library with fiction and non-fiction books, accelerated readers for school age children, best sellers, and inter-library loans
  • Three Churches, Catholic, Lutheran, and Methodist.
  • Childcare Center and Preschool licensed for up to 122 children in a new 8,800 sq ft facility.
  • Activity Center of over 15,000 square feet open to the public and school for fitness and used for a variety of community and athletic events. 
  • Golf course sporting a club house, golf cart rental and storage, located on a 9 hole 36 par course.
  • Senior Citizen Center with activities and noon dinners.
  • A new 5,000 square foot Veterans Center with activities throughout the year.
  • Park system with facilities at four different sites, including playground areas, swimming pool, picnic areas, softball field, basketball court, pickleball court, ice skating, courtyard with gazebo, and walking paths,   A variety of programs are offered with swimming lessons, T-ball, softball, and baseball programs. 
  • Municipal airport with a new hangar and terminal. 
  • Community Foundation with a permanent endowment, vested at $5.2 M allowing yearly income to be used for improvements in the Milnor community. 
  • Incentives to build or buy a home in the community, enticements for businesses to locate in our town and a Renaissance Zone with over 74 completed projects. 
  • Newly annexed 44 acre commercial and industrial park on the south side of town with approximately 27 acres still available.  Infrastructure available including natural gas.
